    • Unfortunately we have decided we need to postpone this weekend ice race event to the following weekend Jan 24/25. The weather forecast for Sunday calls for up to 70km wind and possible blizzard conditions and likely no one would enjoy the day if we proceeded...especially our awesome volunteers. I will just be re-dating the event in MSR so for those that were registered to drift or race and are still available to run next weekend there's nothing more to do except show up next weekend. If you are unfortunately now not available to attend then you can cancel your registration or just let me know. Payments have not been processed yet and no one gets charged until they hit the ice. Hopefully the forecast is better next weekend and we can hold a great event!
    • The 2026 High Performance Driving and Competition Licensing School is OPEN for registration. It will be at Gimli Motorsport Park both days, May 9 and 10 2026. New and Returning participants are encouraged to sign up, the earlier the better. As we build on the success of last years event, we strive to make the 2026 school better than ever. With newly renovated facilities on site, top flight catering and an amazing team that strives to make your experience the best it can be, you will want to secure your place in this years school as soon as possible. https://wscc.motorsportreg.com/events/2026-wscc-competition-license-school-gimli-motorsports-park-winnipeg-651446 The cost of the school includes your yearly membership - Please post any questions, we will be glad to help. -Matt

    • You're right Mike! Yellows are my priority at the moment and the less important colors will be upgraded as needed. I'm steady looking for new, better or cheaper lights for the future!
    • I have so much gratitude for ALL the photographers at the event. You freeze your bodies and cameras for some amazing shots of us showing off.. Thank you!!
    • Much appreciated Dustin!
    • I was pleasantly surprised how bright and how well the light seemed to cut through. My only feedback is while the light is visible it is also very small. I'm not sure on the cost or electrical load engineering aspects to make the lights bigger but in my opinion it would have more of a visual impact if they were multiple lights. Maybe instead of the one green it was 4 (2x2) or even 9 (3x3) and similar for the yellow and red. My 2 cents... Great work Mike!
    • I couldn't agree more. Fantastic turnout and great weekend.  Special shoutout to the following people: Judy & Gloria who both stepped in to help out with our last minute gate staffing issue - with the crowd that showed up this was critical! Spenser for filling in for Dave our regular Race Radio Commentator who was recovering from recent surgery Eric, Myles, Dennis and Danielle who all raced incredibly well for their very first ice race event Mike Gordon for building/piloting a new exciting supplemental track safety light system Steve, Jen, Llew, Brian, Ron, Guy, Chris, Ava, Matt, Dustin, Theo, Cory, Wayne, Nicole, Kyle, Nolan, Stu, Andre & Alyssa, Amy & Jordan....and possibly others that I might have missed that make up our awesome ice team!
    • Hello everyone. With the second Ice Race event taking place the weekend of our regularly scheduled Monthly meeting, we will postpone the January meeting until the following week, to be held then on Thursday, January 22nd.  A Google Meet invite will follow. Thank you  Chris
    • It was a great turnout at the first Ice Racing Event.   Here are the points standings WSCC Fire on Ice 2026.pdf
    • They looked amazing from the track surface. Nice work so far.
    • Well with the first weekend over, the safety lighting system protype survived and worked 90% of the time.  There are lots of changes coming!! This isn't the finished version I promise. There's no point in moving forward unless every detail is dialed in... so with that said I would love feedback from everyone who noticed it.  There will be more yellow lights in version 2 for the next event. The electronics with either be repaired for the double yellow glitch or upgraded by Wayne in the near future.
    • What a great event!! As per usual, WSCC volunteers pulled off a 1st place finish! Thank you for all the efforts!
    • I grabbed a TON of pics on Saturday! Unfortunately my camera had some issues on Sunday, so I only got a few but I tried to get at least a few pictures of everyone. I don't edit so nothing has been touched up or even really sorted through. I've got all of the original larger files on an external hard drive; shoot me a message with the numbers if you'd like some! I just couldn't fit all of them in my Google drive.    Here is the link
    • Wow that was a turnout. Great job guys ! Good thing you lengthened that track cause we needed all of it dor spectator parking !  Lots a fans and car count. Also great idea with the Christmas tree light set up on track. Professionally run. Other than my new cars Gremlins all weekend was Great. Thanks to all the volunteers !
