Unfortunately the cold weather and locked gate at the driveway entrance at Lake Shirley isn't enough to keep degenerates away.  I found out thieves had recently cut the trailer door lock and broke into my race trailer that I had left on site and stole most my tools, jack, propane canisters, batteries and some winter gear. To say I am disappointed and pissed off is an understatement. Thankfully it appears that the equipment trailer and the other cars that were left parked in the pits appear to have not been damaged or entered in any way.  Just a word of caution for anyone leaving a vehicle or equipment on site at Lake Shirley...

…always seem to miss something in the final proof read process. page 7&8 - photo credits goes to Kris Schellekens  page 9 - wrong name for the Consolation Hard Luck Award…Guy won it last year and handed it off to our 2025 winner - David Klassen.    Apologies and let me know if other mistakes found.       

First it was postponed due to cold...then it just colder... Unfortunately with the extreme cold warnings and forecasted wind chill this weekend we have to cancel the event outright. We will look at possibly rescheduling an additional race weekend to make up for it the weekend after the Winnipeg Beach event (there is a 3 week gap between Wpg Beach and Gimli events this year). The event is canceled completely in MSR and if a race weekend is added after Wpg Beach there will be a new event created in MSR and everyone will be notified so they can register.   Thanks and hopefully we will see everyone the weekend after next at Lake Shirley for our "Event #3".....we are confident Mother Nature won't shut us down 3 weekends in a row!

The problem is with: Registration- Entry I keep getting this error message when I try to register.

Hello just trying to renew my membership on Motorsport Reg. The Motorsport Reg website is stating registration is not open for 2026? Showing registration opens Dec 31 for me, am I overlooking something?

Unfortunately we have decided we need to postpone this weekend ice race event to the following weekend Jan 24/25. The weather forecast for Sunday calls for up to 70km wind and possible blizzard conditions and likely no one would enjoy the day if we proceeded...especially our awesome volunteers. I will just be re-dating the event in MSR so for those that were registered to drift or race and are still available to run next weekend there's nothing more to do except show up next weekend. If you are unfortunately now not available to attend then you can cancel your registration or just let me know. Payments have not been processed yet and no one gets charged until they hit the ice. Hopefully the forecast is better next weekend and we can hold a great event!
