  1. I completely agree. For the sake of science, changing one variable at a time makes the most sense .....and a new track surface is a big change that will impact everyone.
  2. I hear what you're saying Brian, but I don't believe the PAX system was used in 2023. Perhaps I am mistaken, but if you look at the PAX adjustments in the 2021 and 2022 seasons, at several events, I recall times were "paxing into" the 57's and low 58's.
  3. My only issue .....going back to the 13-class system that was previously in use, had cars being "paxed" into lap-time territory that has never actually been achieved.
  4. This is awesome to see! Congratulations to ALL the executive, volunteers, and everyone who's been involved (present and past) in bringing this project to completion over many, many years. It didn't happen over night.
  5. High performance tires (especially race compound, but really any HP tire) will degrade if exposed to freezing temps. I have first hand experience with this as the original rubber on my ACR began to show cracks after the car was delivered to me via closed, but "unheated" transport in the middle of winter.
  6. Heard you on CJOB this morning, Mike. Nice job! Great to see WSCC getting some press.
  7. I agree. No need to split the Mod class. The way I was thinking this worked is that "Extreme" is considered a "challenge class." No trophies/positions are awarded unless a new record is set. If that's me, managing to find a new PB ....then great. If it's someone else breaking the "production car track record" or "overall track record for any door-slammer" then they take it. If the records are not re-set, then no trophy or position is awarded. Purely Challenge. Essentially I would be extracted from the Mod class. Just competing against myself, or anyone else who establishes a new record.
  8. Despite the fact that the ACR officially falls into the Mod class, I'm thinking just classing it in "Extreme." Thus not competing in the Mod class will help.
  9. That's a PIP bargain, if it only costs 1.5
  10. Great dialogue and discussion. This is awesome to see! If I may, I'll add my own thoughts: If we can assume the old PAX system was broken, (given that the top placing positions were dominated by cars classed SGT2 or higher) I think it's fair to say that the latest PAX system to rectify the issue may have swung the pendulum a little too far in the opposite direction, given that SGT2 and higher classed cars now occupy the majority of the bottom half positions. While we can certainly do more scientific calculations to prove this, a simple look at event standings after the PAX multiplier has been applied (old PAX vs newer PAX) would support this position. Now I'm not suggesting by any stretch, that this was done with intent. It was merely an attempt to correct an old system and ensure all classes had a more competitive chance. However, now that we have more data available, we can see that refining the PAX multiplier factor could achieve a more balanced result and can further level the playing field for all, without diving full-on into a whole new classification or rule set. It will never be perfect, but it can get closer regardless of which direction the club decides to go. For the record, I am not opposed to either.
  11. If #11 is still available, I'd like to stick with that again since it's what I used for the past few years. If not ...not worries. Guess why? (It's quick and easy to make an "11" with tape. lol!) ....oh. and Rare Snake needs to add a few more "inches"
