I'm building a car to do (almost) everything WSCC

Many of you are familiar with the Pink Panther and that 12 year long odyssey. The car is amazing but it's a one-trick pony and can only do autoslalom. When our events were called off in 2020 I was extremely frustrated that I couldn't enjoy the car at all so I formulated a plan. That plan was to liquidate all my toys and focus on one vehicle that could provide maximum enjoyment. Since Speedworld was forced to shut down in 2020 due to Covid regulations, Briget and I worked full time to restore our 1969 GMC Suburban and when it was done (912 hours later) we threw it up on BringATrailer and it sold for a lot more than expected.1969 Suburban Video We immediately purchased a 1967 Camaro that had been sitting disassembled in a shipping container since 2000 and I went to work. I have it all planned out. It's going to be a street legal with full interior, sound deadening and air conditioning but will also be CAM-T legal for autoslalom, Time Attack and also have a cage certified for 11.0 in the 1/4 mile. Suspension is all aftermarket, brakes are Wilwood, Trans in T56 Magnum 6 speed and engine is LS7. The whole build is on my YouTube channel if you're interested, please subscribe Camaro Build Playlist on YouTube I am shooting for 2024 season but who knows? It's coming together quicker than expected.

UPDATE: I test fitted 335mm wide tires and they actually fit front and rear, although steering angle is compromised. I'll be running 315-30-18 tires so everything should be fine. Also, an engine has be acquired from good old EBay and it's a good one. It is an LS7 out of a 2006 Z06 Corvette and has the Katech Stage II package on it, making out 675 hp at the crank. Believe it or not, it will not have nearly the hp/weight ratio of the Pink Panther.

@conebasher  Finally finished viewing all 27 episodes and I'm completely exhausted just from watching all the effort you've put into this project. Don't know how anyone can have that much energy, determination and perseverance to see this project through. Totally insane.

Can’t wait to see the finished product on the street and at the track.

Thanks, and I've made some major changes to the Pink Panther, too. Hopefully I'll do better than 3rd at Nationals (well, if not me, somebody else because I'm not competing in EM at Nats)

Have you tried testing firing the engine?

eBay engines can often be a bunch of oil-burning lemons...

Not yet but the seller posted a video of it running just prior to pulling it out

Just finished watching most the pink panther build and the Camaro. Fantastic job so far.

I have been wanting to start making dry carbon parts for my car to dump weight off and loved seeing you progress as you went.

Looking forward to seeing it done and on track.
