Join us for both days...book a room and join us for a night of celebration as well. Big ice race club dinner party planned in the Lakeview Resort on Saturday. Tickets must be pre-ordered (cutoff is this Friday morning) and are available as an option when you register. If you aren't registered or plan on registering but still want to join us all at the dinner just me email and I'll hold tickets. ($30 for full dinner banquet - chicken, fish or ribs option). Note: all volunteers that have helped out throughout the season in any capacity receive a free ticket! Just ensure you either register on MSR for it or contact me. Awards! On Saturday night after the dinner there will be awards handed out by the Lakeview Resort for the top 3 Fire on Ice drivers and top 3 IceX drivers. These awards will be based on the following 2 race events scheduled for the end of the day on Saturday: Icelandic Pursuit Challenge - all the Fire on Ice cars will be lap timed randomly throughout the afternoon and assigned an average lap time handicap (the delta time difference between the fastest and slowest average lap time for each car). Cars will then start the 15 lap race from a dead stop in reverse grid order based on their handicap multiplied by 15 (race length of laps). Theoretically all cars should cross the finish line after 15 laps at the same time...theoretically . IceX Drift Showdown - 3 finalists for each FWD, RWD and AWD will be selected after the last IceX groups have ran. Each 3 car group will be given 3 laps to show the fans their best laps with either speed, slide control and/or drift skills. Winner of each category will be determined by the level of spectator vehicle horn "appreciation". IceX - car count will be restricted to a maximum of 16 entries each day (2 groups of 8). Fire on Ice Race Series - note there will only be 4 points races on Saturday and 5 on Sunday going towards the 2023 WSCC Ice Race Series Championship. There's a good selection of YouTube clips to select from past to present. @Dnfwm Great job with the recent Winnipeg Beach events! I love the one with the drone navigating the cone slalom on the banks of the course. I know it wasn't you piloting the drone, because I've seen you at AutoSlalom -ha-ha! Mike Posted March 2, 2023 Author Share Posted March 2, 2023 I suspect these are videos of event 4 at Wpg Beach and not Gimli seeing that we haven't built the track their yet! lol And regarding the location of the videos...your guess is as good as mine because I don't believe MSR hosts video links. Well, from one Luddite to another, let me fumble my way through the process: 1. Go to MSR and select 2023 WSCC Ice Race Event #5 - Gimli at wscc.motorsportreg.com. 2. When the information page opens, go to the upper right (just below Mikes' picture, and click on "Watch a video (YouTube)". I'm not sure how these videos get loaded/linked onto the MSR page, but it seems like if functions the same as if you went directly to YouTube and searched on "Gimli Ice Racing". I'm sure someone on the Forum can explain how this works. Anyways, yesterday there were about six videos and this morning there were a lot more. Not sure how that works. I tried accessing the videos on both my desktop and cellphone and both work the same. But I must warn you, don't get distracted by the video of the pretty girl ice fishing.
