Mike Posted December 7, 2022 Share Posted December 7, 2022 Registration is now open for our Winter HPDE & Ice Race Competition Licensing School! http://msreg.com/WSCC2023IceSchool Date: Saturday Jan 7, 2023 Location: Beausejour Sports Complex (CPTC Oval Race Track) Cost: $125 (includes lunch) Spend an entire day learning and practicing ice driving and drifting skills, racing techniques and general winter driving car control with our experienced instructors. Take your car to the limit on a purpose build ice race track in a safe, controlled environment! Whether you intend on participating in the upcoming IceX ice drifting events, door to door sanctioned ice racing, or just want to learn advanced winter car control techniques, this is the event for you! This school is also a prerequisite for attaining your WCMA Ice Racing Competition License. There are 3 key components to the school and the students will be broken into appropriate groups and rotated through the 3 training areas throughout the day. Experienced instructors will be on site to provide hands on/passenger seat tutoring and advice throughout the day as requested by the student. Students will have the opportunity to go with instructors in their vehicle and/or have instructors in their car at times throughout the day. The key components include: Classroom session - within a heated building at the track our chief instructor will discuss and review various aspects and skills pertaining to car control on ice like cornering, braking, drifting, racing lines, basic car preparation and track procedures like flags and track protocols. Ice driving practice course - this will take place on the large ice parking lot beside the track and will include various practice exercises to help hone your ice driving skills. Traffic cones will be utilized to mark out a defined practice slalom course, figure eight, drifting zone, etc. Students will be allowed lots of practice time at various stations both with or without instructors basedon their preference. Ice Oval Track - this is the large oval race track utilized for both snowmobile and ice racing competition events. Under the supervision of our track marshals, students will be free to open up their car's full potential and practice their ice racing and ice drifting skills in a safe (and legal) environment! Lunch will be provided within one of the heated buildings onsite. Schedule/Times will be posted closer to the event date. Register now to reserve your spot! Mike Posted January 2, 2023 Author Share Posted January 2, 2023 (edited) Attached is the daily schedule for our 2023 WSCC Ice HPDE and School held in Beausejour on the CPTC racetrack on Saturday Jan 7 Note: Entrance will be the Main Gate off of highway #302. Turn left right away an follow the service road that goes between the kid's track and highway to the pit area. Park in the area noted “Parking” in Northwest corner of the pits (far right whenyou drive in) Heated washrooms will be the Pit Concession Washrooms Classroom session and lunch will be in the Press Booth (#1 middle of the back straight away across from the main stands) 9:00am - pit area and classroom open – park and get setup in the pits then come for a coffee 9:30 to 10:30 (aprox 1 hr) – classroom coaching session, presentation and Q&A Following the classroom session students will be broken into 2 groups – A & B 10:30 to 11:15 – ice driving exercises in the parking lot (switch at approx 11:15am) -Group A – Figure 8 course -Group B – Slalom course 11:15 to 12:00 – ice driving exercises in the parking lot -Group A – Slalom course -Group B – Figure 8 course After you finish your last round head over to the classroom building 12:00 to 12:45 – Lunch (served in the classroom area/Press Room Building) 12:45 to 13:00 – Classroom - Q&A and Track protocols review After Q&A head over and warm up your cars Group A can queue up at track entrance and pick an instructor 13:00 to 14:00 – Track goes hot (cone chicanes on both straights) Group A – 5 laps w/Instructors Group B – 5 laps w/instructors -repeat till approximately 2pm 14:00 to 15:45 – cone chicane on front straight only Studded Cars - 10 lap sessions Group A – 10 lap session Group B – 10 lap session -repeat till approximately 4pm 16:00 to 16:30 – Volunteer Track Lapping Any car that has a volunteer or other student in their passenger seat – queue up at grid! 5 cars at a time - 5 lap sessions 2023 WSCC Ice School Schedule.doc Edited January 5, 2023 by Mike info updated 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
