  1. If an alternate location is needed, pm me about my 72 acres 20 mins from the perimeter.
  2. Hi guys. I am moving shop and need my project car moved from winnipeg to my new property just north of Selkirk. If anyone with a truck and trailer wants to make some extra cash, shoot me a pm.
  3. Leno's Garage featured these and I thought these would be awesome for anyone driving a modified car or to keep in a race car. Maybe even something the marshals can use instead of the big heavy ones the club is currently using. These could be kept in the back pocket while marshaling for very quick response times to put out fires without the inconvenience.
  4. If you still need this done I will ask my shop partner if he has time to help you out. He's a professonal welder and would do an even better job than I would. Plus he has more free time than I do lol
  5. I actually had the idea to make such a business a few years ago but of course did not have the money to do it and have since pretty much abandoned the idea.
  6. i found the same when I first started welding with the weld thru primer, but from tweaking settings and practice my welds got better as I went. Also seems like you are building a whole new car lol
  7. The one part I might argue is the scoop becuase it might add a bit of performance via cooling (even though kinda doubt it lol) but the rules are pretty specific that no scoops are allowed to be added until prepared class. Not even Street Mod is allowed scoops unless they were there originally.
  8. hmm personally I would be on the fence about that kit... looks like it acutally might provide a bit of downforce. if I recall there is even a specific rules somewhere about splitters not protruding past the front of the bumper.
  9. you should be fine as long as you can prove the car is now lower than it is wide. the Abarthe should be a good reference for legality (one of those has been racing with us for a while). Lowering would put you into the Street Touring class though.
  10. For street mod the engine just has to be from the same manufacturer. IE a VW engine in a VW chassis. For example we have a MR2 running a V6 and a Corolla running a 20V. So you are good. Just can't have a Honda or Chevy ect in your rabbit. Cheers and have fun momentum driving the heck out of that thing.
  11. I have never heard of a profesional race team that did not seam weld their production based unibody race cars. So yes it makes a difference. If you were planning on autocrossing the car though you may want to look up the rules before doing that because could put it in a very high class. ps. just a side note I do not know what melody your car is singing just yet so I'm guesing autocorrect was messing with you when trying to spell "area".
  12. awesome work. having the right tools helps alot. I need to pick up a bead roller as well. I have gotten away with not having an english wheel so far.
  13. thats pretty cool. I was planning on pretty much doing the same with my two Alltrac's untill I needed money for the closing costs on our house. So the original race car was sacrificed. The chassis that was going to be the street/show car will now be a race car for at least a while but I wont take it so far that it can never be a comfortable street car again if I want to convert it back.
  14. wow you are a lucky man to find two of those. I just hope when I actually have the time and money to do a 77, one will come along that I dont have to pay $30,000 for lol
  15. no overall champ trophy. That would just go to Jeff every year anyway also number of trophies per class depends on class size. More than three trophies can be awarded if a large number of racers qualify for the championship (ie compete in enough events, usually one more than half of the season)
  16. I got lazy. Also got preoccupied with the mr2 since I brought it home, prepping and tinkering with it. Those of you familiar with "project binky" may appreciate this. https://www.youtube.com/embed/TlyyHO6vlhs you should have said that in a British accent
  17. NYC is for cars that have not been classed and just want to run without a PAX adjustment on raw time. There is a Rookie of the year trophy however, which is why there is a Rookie list but they must compete in one of the three trophy classes. I must have gotten the back seat removal rule confused between the two classes. I wonder where I got the idea that you could remove interior in SM. must have been from reading the prepped and modified rules lol.
  18. you are correct about everything except that you are only allowed to removed the rear seat in SP. removing any other interior trim moves you into SM. (Also not sure about control arms in SP) Trophies are awarded for each group. ie trophies for Street, Mixed, and Modified Street.
  19. I'm pretty sure over 3.0L means 3.0 AND over so yeah ESP. The engine mods would just put you in Street Modified as far as I can tell not Prepared. SM allows pretty much anything done to the engine as long as its from the same manufacturer as the chassis.
