dano
Over the past number of years, there's been a lot of online marketplace evolution. And given it's autocross, it's not as stringent for certifications as other racing. So I'm curious where people enjoy purchasing their nice-to-haves for autocross? I did some quick searching online, and a lot is for the USA, but some is applicable for us here in Canada. Was interested in some shoes, and these seemed reasonably priced: https://ca.puma.com/ca/en/pd/scuderia-ferrari-drift-cat-11-mens-sneakers/308613?swatch=01 Also considering getting some gloves, not wanting padding on the palms and not needing really fire or bash resistance, came across these: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005006361875695.html Even though I haven't used my helmet that I purchased ~11 years ago for anything really, I picked up a decently priced one from here: https://fortnine.ca/en/ What else and where else should we be looking? Brian_Earl_Spilner
Not sure if they're still a thing, but the CG Lock (or equivalent) was a hot item back in the day.
conebasher
All you really need is an accurate tire pressure gauge, I prefer the digital ones and the one I use can be foundĀ here. A large sun hat and a battery or cigarette lighter powered compressor are nice to have for adjusting pressures and a small cooler to bring your lunch in is also handy. if you're concerned about scuffing your car on a pylon, Princess Auto sells a hard surface protective film that is easy to apply and pulls right off after the event. dano
Speaking of accessories and the first event of the year, anything that people would say are necessities / good to haves / nice if you have space? When I did it 10 years ago I had a hatchback and packed lots of stuff in there like a jack, wheel chocks, spare oil, coolant, torque wrench, various sockets, toilet paper, lawn chair, water sprayer, bicycle pump, sidewalk chalk, lunch, etc. Anyone have a list you use? Iceracer
Battery powered inflator and impact, socket set, torque wrench, paper towel and toilet paper, couple beach blankets, tire plugs, small hydraulic jack, liquid shoe polish(instead of chalk), lithium battery booster, masking tape, golf umbrella, sunblock, bug spray. Probably more but can't think of it all. Have it in a large plastic storage container. Don't forget a good cooler with lots of ice for refreshements and food.
