donrolandofurioso
Hello everybody! As our Tima Attack season is approaching, I would like to remind you all of a few items. 1) As we are expecting open-wheel race cars this year, we have to remember that we have to help the race organizers by sticking to a strict time schedule on both days of the weekend. Please grid early so that there will be no unnecessary delays. There will be no Hotlapping on Saturday or Sunday; we will be back to rotating through Open Wheels, Closed Wheels and Time Attack. 2) OTA has released new technical rules. There are a few minor changes in the PIP schedule; however, there is a brand-new component added. As of this year, PIPs are not only added for tire treadwear rating, but also for tire width compared to stock tires. That means almost everyone will have a different PIP schedule for the 2025 season. I am asking all Time Attack competitors for 2025 to please go to: ccdb.casc.on.ca and re-classify your car based on the newest PIP rules. Your PIP Schedule needs to be sent to secretary@wscc.mb.ca . if you need help with classifying your car, either Brian or I can help you. 3) Your new PIP Schedule has to be submitted by 7am of the race day you are participating in. If it is not submitted by then, you are automatically and irrevocably assigned to MOD1 for that day. 4) We will be running six separate championships: T, GT, SGT, MOD, Extreme and Rookie. Within each group, PAX modifiers will be used to allow the lower rated vehicle to compete against the highest rated vehicle in the same group, i.e. a T3 car will have the PAX modifier help the car to be competitive against a T1 car. Same in GT, SGT, and MOD. Extreme runs on raw times. 5) The Rookie class is solely for the purpose of inspiring competitiveness in our new and newish participants. Any person with less than 8 Time Attack events on their record, or two years or less of T/A competition experience (whichever comes first) is allowed to compete for Rookie of the Year. PAX-adjusted times within their group will be the basis for this championship. 6) If possible, add your class designation behind your car number (i.e. 328 GT4); similar to the car numbers on the Road Race cars. Obviously that designation will be smaller than the actual car number. We do understand that this is not always easy to facilitate -especially if someone keeps jumping between classes- but it is a nice touch that allows spectators to get a feeling as to who is racing whom. Large portions of the track have been repaved; it stands to reason that the track will be faster now. Please sign up for the Time Attack events to find out whether it is! See you at the track! skonrad
Hi Roland, Do we have to declare ourselves as part of the "Rookie" class, or is that automatic based on our limited history of events? Are we part of both Rookie and GT4 for instance?
