2024 Ice Race Event #1 - Lake Shirley - SUNDAY CANCELED

On Saturday -

• Ice School from 10am to Noon ($45) - required for all newcomers
• Ice Drifting from Noon to 4:30pm ($60)
• Ice Race Practice from Noon to 4:30pm (free for racers registered to race on Sunday)

On Sunday - 

• Ice Drifting from 10am to 4:30pm ($75) - 2 groups alternating between the 2 race classes
• Ice Racing (Street Safe class & Studded Class $125) - practice session at 10am and racing starts at noon

Ice Event 1 has been rescheduled to Jan 13/14

Unfortunately mother nature is not cooperating with our planned first event. We have lots of ice on Lake Shirley however there is next to no snow and there's also absolutely no snow in the forecast for the next week. For safety reasons we need at least some snow in order to make sufficient banks to keep the cars on track and protect our marshal stations.

With this in mind, and to give people as much notice as possible we have reluctantly made the decision to postpone the first event one week and plan to hold it instead the following weekend on Jan 13th & 14th. There is some snow in the forecast coming possibly next weekend and we remain optimistic that we will then be able to successfully kickoff our 2024 Season with the first ice event just one week later. The rest of the events dates will hopefully remain as scheduled.

Mother Nature has brought us snow and we will be racing this weekend! 

For those that plan on running with a passenger - please ensure that they have signed the on-line speed waiver. Passengers will be checked for this and will be provided a wristband to indicate that they have signed the waiver. Passenger wristbands will be available from either the Track Registrar (Gloria at car#79) or myself at the black enclosed trailer (car #88).

Thanks to all the Volunteers, Ice School entries, Ice drifters, Lappers and basically everyone that showed up today and braved the cold for our first event day of 2024.

Unfortunately with the weather forecast even colder for Sunday and a wind chill forecast of -44C we had to make the tough decision to cancel the Sunday racing.

Hopefully we will see everyone out at the Beausejour Ice Oval for 2 full days of Ice Drifting and Racing!
