Jim Eh. Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 We can have a look at that next week. I noticed that this morning. Jordan just wanted to see who he needed to bump in the first corner .....

This is posted at 12:42pm Edit; Mine shows it was actually posted today at 12:42PM, yours shows a different time?
dns Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 It showed 06:42 PM. I just checked my profile and my time zone was set to London time. I changed it back to central and it displays correctly now.
justkickin Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 I have various combinations of IE9 or 10 on WinXP/7/8/8.1 and none of them remember me. Chrome on the same OS's is a no go as well. Even Chrome on my Android device, phone and Lenovo tablet don't remember be. On the plus side, I am not likely to forget my forum password anytime soon.
grail Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 For those having issues with chrome not remembering your sign-in, goto settings -> show advanced settings -> content settings -> all cookies and site data. You will have to find the forums.wscc.mb.ca data and just delete it. Close the forums tab or exit out of chrome. Log back in as usual and it should save your logged in status. I've had to do this for my laptop, it didn't want to keep me signed in either. My desktop had no issues keeping me logged in.

grail Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 Looks like I spoke too soon. Worked for awhile on my laptop, but then goes back to not knowing who I am again. Don't know why my desktop has no issues, both are Windows 7 machines.

Also if you are using a mobile device too that would help. JustKickin - can you also post some specifics too please on the login issue? Thanks.

From what I gather Jordan, it seems like the cookie that keeps us signed in is expiring prematurely. Each time we revisit the page, it's suppose to renew the key so the timer for expiration renews. There is a setting called "Member's log in key Expiration", you may want to look there and see what it's set too.

Chrome on my desktop always keeps me logged in, but my laptop seems to lose it after a few hours. I just tested with my phone (nexus 4) and it keeps me logged in until it eventually expires like the laptop. During my testing, I didn't log in at the same time on different devices. I haven't tested with any other browsers that I have installed.

Possibly it was at the time I was making that change? This was pasted " can't paste text." Can you try the quoting again and let me know? Thanks Anyone else having this issue?
yofa Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 well, still no functional quote or copy/paste, but the text box remains responsive!
WTE Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 well, still no functional quote or copy/paste, but the text box remains responsive!I am using my test account (on a Windows 7 laptop) to quote and copy/paste. "well, still no functional quote or copy/paste,"Seems to work fine on this box. I will have a look at your account tonight to see if there is anything that I can notice there. Jim
grail Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 So I've noticed that on my desktop that always remember's me, it keeps more cookies for the forums than my laptop. 7 cookies on the desktop vs 4 on the laptop. Starting to wonder if the desktop cookies are Marion made ones... lol.

Also if you are using a mobile device too that would help. JustKickin - can you also post some specifics too please on the login issue? Thanks. Sure, in summary form. My main connection points are:PC: Win8 with IE10 - no cookies saved for the forums (just checked manually - and no I am not clearing them).Laptop: Win7 with IE9/Chrome and Win8.1 with IE10/11 and Chrome. Neither OS saves my credentials. Tried clearing the Win8.1 side in both browsers as well.Phone: Samsung S4 with Chrome. Nope.Lenovo Tablet: Android with Chrome..Nope. Like the laptop, I have cleared settings on the phone and the tablet. No success in either case. In all cases, I have tried the logon, logoff, close, logon (no check mark), logoff, close, logon (checkmark) and still no recall by the browser. Now I just login each time on each device. In all browsers, it recalls my username with the first letter typed (that is a browser thing, so the browsers work), but not the password. At least my password is easy to type on all sorts of devices. Hope this helps.

Jim Eh. Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 Tim, are you logging in from the same device multiple times without logging in from a different device?
grail Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 So I've installed apps to monitor the cookies being created. My laptop was missing two cookies that were on the deskop. One called member_id and the other being pass_hash. I've since imported these same cookies into my laptop's chrome install. We'll see if I'm still signed in tomorrow morning.
Jim Eh. Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 Funny thing is, in past versions of this software there was a major bug that retained your login for weeks, months. Lots of posts about it. The "Remember me" radio button did not work if unchecked nor the "sign out" and users complained about staying "logged in" for weeks. Wonder if they overdid the fix? BTW I believe the login has more to do with the member_id cookie than anything else.
justkickin Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 Tim, are you logging in from the same device multiple times without logging in from a different device?Yeah, mostly my phone. I just close tabs now, never bother logging off anymore.

After importing those cookies, my laptop chrome install has kept me signed in this morning. It doesn't seem to be creating those cookies anymore when you click the remember me option.
justkickin Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 I realize folks are working hard on things, but something just occurred to me. On other forums, and previously here, new topics would be sorted by:- new topics with new posts since your last visit- new topics with no new posts since your last visit. Handy little sort option to have. Not a big deal if it is from a bygone era. Edit: I just found the menu option on the first page. That works, but the sort takes away the need to click. c'est la vie.

Jim i've managed to fix the copy/paste and quote issues. i've downgraded back to ie10. i had a separate intranet page issue on my work computer, so gave up on ie11. i guess it's microsoft's problem, unsurprisingly... still constantly have to log in though.
Shawn Posted April 15, 2014 Posted April 15, 2014 Any idea when the "Remember Me" functionality will start to work? Also it appear that there are functions available to the left of my username but they are invisible. I only realized that one must be the messages as I will see a message indicator.
