Magner
I didn't realise the extent of the changes, looks great overall! Posting is no longer a huge pain, there's an abundance of options and resources to make new posts. Thanks team!
Riverman
Looks very nice and is very easy to use. One thing that doesn't seem to work (for me) is the "remember me" on the sign-in box. I still have to sign in every time. Yes, my cookies are on.
Jim Eh.
Don't let them burn. I hate burnt cookies! I think it is a browser setting. I usually use Chrome on my laptop for the forums. I access the board from three different devices and it's different on each one. On this laptop, I loaded directly to the forums without having to log in. On my phone, I have to log in now but I did make some changes to my phone so ... I haven't had time to look into the setting on my phone just yet.Damn computers! Jim Eh.
If you use "Sign out" to log off try this next time. Log on, fill in your user name and pwd then uncheck the "remember me" box and check the box once again. It will refresh your cache and remember it but if you use the "sign out" tab then it clears your cache, just like you should whenever you do any on-line banking . Jim Eh.
I will be putting up several different skins then a poll. Input welcome. If you are not a fan of the flavor of the week, simply go to hte bottom of the page and select "change theme"

Brian_Earl_Spilner
Looks good. Good job. One thing though that might need addressing, IMO, is the quoting. Whenever you click the quote button to reply to somebody, once finished posting, the quoted post isn't framed, coloured differently, or otherwise differentiated in anyway from the new text. The quoted post and response all look exactly the same. It's like deja vu reading through threads.

Testing the quote from Brian_Earl_Spilner to see what it looks like.Yep, you are right, it does look exactly the same except with a little box at the top. We will look in to that.I made yours underline to make it look different but we shouldn't need to do that.Thanks.

JohnnyV
Testing qutoes again. My theme of choice -- "modern" displays quotes properly. I believe the plan is to select a default theme for everyone in the near future.
Jim Eh.
I noticed on "Modern" that if you hover over the space to the left of your user name you can find your "Messenger" and your "Notification" buttons but you just can't see them. But you are right, I like this skin.

To Change your Theme, scroll to the bottom of this page and "Change Theme" should be in the bottom left then select what you want. BTW - it didn't work with IE doing 'quotes' but it does work properly in Chrome. I believe Krank plus JohnnyV are going through themes to change our default. Jim Eh.
Attached is a poll of the looks of the forums. The theme or skin (format) of the forums pages. Which one do you think looks best for the club to use as a DEFAULT skin. It does not matter what the default theme is, you can always change it to your personal choice. chkdsk
I voted memory, should have been modern. I do have an issue with IE11 with staying logged in, Chrome works excellent. Actually most things are working better in Chrome than IE11 and I'm a long-time IE guy.

Brian_Earl_Spilner
I have found with IE11, that if you just hit the enter key after entering in your user/pass, it will NOT stay logged in. You have to actually mouse click "Sign In", and it will stay logged in. IE11 blows.
Corey
The new board looks nice!I have to sign in every time I use my iPhone. And I need to click the dot or star twice to go to the latest new post from the 'new content' page. But I can use carriage returns again!
Jeff
I agree. Big improvement! Nice to see the forums becoming a bit more active again. It seems to log me out every day even when I click 'remember me' but it may be a browser issue. I haven't bothered to look into it.
chkdsk
I agree. Big improvement! Nice to see the forums becoming a bit more active again. It is nice to see some more activity again. The new board was a lot of work and I had the easy part. Krank (Jim) and JohnnyV had the hard part. Krank had to manually go through bogus users one by one and remove them, I believe the last count was 1100+ users. I have to sign in every time I use my iPhone. And I need to click the dot or star twice to go to the latest new post from the 'new content' page. But I can use carriage returns again! There is an iPhone module for this board that we haven't installed yet as we wanted to make sure we had the normal bugs worked out before creating new ones. We'll let you know when it's online so you can test it out. IE11 blows. Haha!! Yep, finding that out more and more everyday.

Actually after I did the bogus admins manually (about 900) I found the filter list to do the (bot) users en masse (1100+). This is why I put up a request for new users to make one post so that when I do my clean up (monthly - yeah right!) the users that have not made a post (bots) will be pruned out. Brian_Earl_Spilner
Yeah, I can't stay logged in anymore now either. Neither with IE at work, nor with Safari at home. I don't know what changed, but I didn't change anything on my end. Close the browser, come back, need to sign in again. Played with cookie settings to no avail. Even coming back a few hours later without closing the browser window logs me out. Chrome and IE both behave the same.
Corey
Chrome at work (WinXP) remembers me since the first time I signed in. Chrome at home (Win7) and Safari (iPhone) forget me instantly.
Corey
To add to my confusion: WinXP seems to strip out carriage returns, see this post: http://forums.wscc.mb.ca/index.php?/topic/9266-data-logger/#entry110089 I've posted from a Win7 computer with successful carriage returns.
