Alstan Penlock
Hello All,It appears that the Driver & Car Spotlights have been well received. Since there is snow on the ground I don't see very many 'interviews' materializing over the winter.I've been doing the 'Spotlights' on my own time and a suggestion was given to me that would make the whole process quite a bit easier (for me). No more written out interviews. All interviews would be available as an audio file (where the spotlight would be posted). Would this bother a great many people?...Does anyone have any ideas on what they would like to see more/less of?Thanks. Please share your constructive thoughts below. Jim Eh.
I think the "spots" have been fantastic. I don't know a lot of people here yet and seem to be getting to know them through the spotlights. Fantastic work, but I know exactly where you are coming from. Could at least a slide show be embedded with the audio file to try to keep that personal touch?
Alstan Penlock
...Could at least a slide show be embedded with the audio file to try to keep that personal touch? Can you explain this further? I would still be doing the photography there just wouldn't be a transcribed interview.
Corey
I like the written word, but understand the time it must take to transcribe it. Maybe the interviewees could write their responses?

The interview loses some of it's candid nature but maybe that is not all that important.

What about doing the interview and letting the interviewee transcribe it? I don't think it's too much to ask, given the quality of photo shoot you're offering free of charge. Jim Eh.
Can you explain this further? I would still be doing the photography there just wouldn't be a transcribed interview.I was amazed at the publishing quaility of those interviews. To be quite frank' date=' without the pictures [b']and the story, I think you would lose that connection with the person in the interview. It's like driving in a car with the radio on, some of the story gets lost. Everyone would a different mental picture of the person whom is being interviewed, although that might come in as a bonus in the future It would be like comparing the days of radio vs TV and the internet. Just my personal opinion for what it is worth.
TRDTurko
why dont you take it a step further and video tape the interviews? Just set up a camera, it would be just as much (or as little) work as a audio file. Definitely keep the photos, those are great.
