Alstan Penlock
Phil Reddy - DRIVER SPOTLIGHTWords and Images by Tristan PennerName & (Forum Name): Phil Reddy (Fast Toys)Competing In: Autoslalom: Class FP-SAny exciting car history…Um… well with my first car when I started modifying it I had some interesting experiences. One time I took it to Midas Muffler to get an exhaust leak welded. The guy was welding on it and the car was running. I told the welder to be careful because he was near an oil line...To view the rest of the interview...http://www.tristanshea.com/blog/2011/10/26/wscc-driver-car-spotlight-phil-reddy/
AMGNUTS_Bocar
Very nice pictures. Well done, again, Tristan.Phil said he hasn't received any bad advice recently, how about this, "Get rid of the blue car, it's too fast for most of us".Phil also said he's been autocrossing since 1996. I don't think I know of any veterans from Phil's time that are still racing other than, maybe, Cory Dyck. The venue looks familiar, but I can't seem to recall where that is. Miss_Behavin
It would be interesting to get a list of the "veterans" I know Mark has been doing it forever tooGreat spotlight!
Fast_Toys
The pictures were taken at the old Convergys building on route 90.I don't think there are too many people left from when I started. 1996 was the first year I started coming out more consistently. I did go to a couple of events at the Winnipeg stadium before that in my Firebird. I guess I must be getting old!

Corey
I started in 2000. Phil was already a veteran then! :)I love these pieces, always interesting to read.

Miss_Behavin
Mark says the veterans he remembers from even before Phil are Gord Zacharias (Doc) and Lawrence Baltus...that was in 1994. What is amazing is when you go to Nationals and they announce people who have been to the last 25 nationals!

It would be interesting if someone could dig up some info on how auto-x has changed over time (e.g cars to have, standings, location etc).

bluesi92
I first autocrossed in Thunder Bay back in 1988. I believe my first event in Winnipeg was in 2000 (sure seemed longer ago than that...) when I had my '88 Prelude. I remember it was quite normal to time runs by having two people compare stopwatches...We've progressed quite nicely, me-thinks.

Al Marcoux
You're right. It should be Formula Ford = Parked? Parking race cars is Gords specialty. Right Gord ?
