conebasher
Here is a map of our course from October 7, 2007. It was a great course and IIRC was safe, fun, challenging and had very positive feedback. FYI, nearly everything was directly ripped off from RJ's courses at other facilities. JT_TT
That's the one we did in the rain isn't it?
Jeff
I don't remember any rain, but I do remember the course, and it was a good one. The only part I didn't like was the east Hard-Right, Hard-Left combo. It's not like it was TOO slow (I think I was around 45kph in the teg) it just seemed to last forever.I really think we should try a variation of the East course split-slalom. It ended up being a 5-6 cone slalom with one long offset in the middle that really tested your ability to stay off the gas and wait for your chance to hit the back of the next cone. I think we can definitely get more creative with our slaloms after seeing stuff like that.

JT_TT
ok we had the same ending section on the event 2 years go for the regional event. it was raining, i remember drifting heavily into the finish. Was this the one where Gord did the spin after the finish lights?

SoloSnapshots
I never liked "Den of Thieves". I think that section was the cause of most of the DNFs and I remember it feeling slow.Jeff's run Art's run before the diff went We should be able to correct any problems we had with it the first time (opening up the section Jeff suggested was too slow, making "den of thieves" easier to navigate, etc) but I don't think it was overly complicated because there were 26 dnf's with 51 competitors and, for example, we had 23 dnf's for 46 competitors for the August 24th event of this year. from the videos, it looks really safe and addresses the issues of the dip, start and finish pretty well. I think we could actually make the east section a little faster and still be safe.
SoloSnapshots
There's 31 DNFs showing in the results. People don't look or plan ahead. I'm fine with the course if the east is changed a bit.

You're right, though-people don't look ahead. At Nationals, everybody must have walked the course 20+ times, had classroom sessions with the Evo instructors on the actual courses and watched video of others on the course yet while I was marshalling out there, I saw people go off course.
