How to renew or apply for your Ice Race License

Here is all the info and links you need to get your WCMA Ice Race License. Our 2025 season is approaching fast so don't wait till the last minute. 

If you have never held a WCMA race license and are applying for the very first time you will need to first register an account with MSR (Motorsport Reg) as all our event registrations and club membership is done online through this site.

For first time license applications and for any renewals that have “expired” (not renewed within several years) the applicant must first apply for the WCMA license prior to attending the Ice School that is offered on Saturday mornings of the race event weekend. This will provide you with a "provisional license" and upon successful completion of the Saturday Ice School the WSCC Ice Race Director will then inform WCMA and if all the required MSR license application information had been completed ahead of time they will grant approval of the license in time for the Sunday racing. 

Step 1: on MSR - renew or obtain your 2025 WSCC Club Membership ($75). Club membership is required and is good for any and all WSCC events. (There are also ways for obtaining a free membership through volunteering a certain number of days.)

Step 2: on MSR – apply for a WCMA Basic Race License ($45). This is the minimum license requirement for Ice Racing - those that also want to Road Race would select the WCMA Amateur Race License. (Note: the Basic Race License also qualifies you for Time Attack at GMP)

• You will need to fill in and save the .pdf files or print out the following 2 documents, fill them out and scan/attach them in MSR during the application process. (clear picture is an acceptable scan option)

o    Annual General Waiver.pdf 

o  WCMA Self-Declaration-Form.pdf

• You will also need to complete the online Speedwaiver (just once for the season). Ensure the Speedwaiver option is checked during the registration process and you will immediately receive a Speedwaiver text with instructions for completing it (simple process that takes 1 minute).

Step 3: on MSR – register for the first event. Please register early - you will not be charged until the event happens and only if your car actually participates in the event. Links to each event will also be posted on our forums and social media.
