2024 Autocross Championship Standings

How are the points tallied up at the end of the season?

Is it just a straight total so that the more events one attends the more points one is able to accumulate? Or is an average somehow gathered? If so, how is that average calculated? Best 5 results, perhaps? Is there a minimum number of events one must attend to "be in the running" so to speak?

We've always gone with half plus one (or rounded up) to qualify for the season championship so that it's not just an attendance award.

This year with 13 events we take your best 7 and add your points up.

Thanks for the explanation.

So 7 events would be the minimum number of events one would need to attend to be included in the championship rankings then?

Thanks Curtis.

Does the invalidated results from event 2 factor in in any way?

Sorry to keep harping on this, I'd like to be included in the novice championship but my work schedule makes it hard to get out to weekend events. I'm lucky to make 50%.

I understand, Jeremy. A lack of information many years ago cost me a chance at the novice title.

We are keeping the results from event two as each run group completed a full set of competition runs on a slightly different course.

So event 2's results would be split into two groups in a way? Sort of an event 2 and event 2A, each either having their own 1st, 2nd, 3rd place positions?

Either way I'm happy event 2's results will count towards the championship rankings. That leaves me with 8 events I can attend, so long as I come out straight from a 14 hour night shift. Lol
