donrolandofurioso
Hello everybody! As you have seen, the preparations for our Licensing School are on the way, and WSCC once again needs the help of our trusted volunteers. The school will happen on April 27 and 28, and like always we are looking for helpers and instructors. If you are an instructor, please contact HPDE Director (me) or HPDE Chief Instructor (Darin). If you want to work any of the numerous positions at the track, please contact our Volunteer Director Dason. Thank You all!
Have Gun Will Travel
You can count on me, as usual. I registered as volunteer for the event on MSR. Only problem I am running into is getting our 2024 WSCC memberships renewed for 2024. 1

donrolandofurioso
We now can confirm that we have the Friday (April 26th) as a HPDE day. I will coordinate with Ron to get a discount code in place that allows all volunteers for the Licensing School to participate for free.
mcorrie
Has the code been created for volunteers to register for Friday lapping?
cboettch
I think. In the future. This needs to be. A reimbursement. For those that can manage. To complete. A full weekend. Of volunteer work. And not leave. Organizers. Scrambling. Edited May 1 by cboettch 1
Mike
Lol. Well… said. I hear. The voice. Clearly in my head.
donrolandofurioso
Not sure exactly what the joke is all about - I guess a person must have been watching some kind of a TV show to understand this... However, I do get the message and I agree with it. Changes will be forthcoming! Edited May 1 by donrolandofurioso
Mat
Not only for the volunteers of event days but the directors who spend countless hours holding everything together. Our model is broken and has been for a while. Every year we try bringing benefits to volunteers and directors is seems to fall on deaf ears. How’s that working out…

Mat
Hey man I’m not rubbing anything in anyone’s faces here. This is nothing new. There’s a concept within the club that “there’s always bigger problems” which is true, but the few key people who keep giving more and more are getting stretched thinner and thinner. donrolandofurioso
Hello everyone! A month has gone by since the licensing school, and I finally take the time to thank all of you for your relentless support of the Race & Licensing School. While there have been many problems before and during the Licensing School, I would be wrong to let my feelings prevent me from acknowledging all of your efforts, and from thanking you for once again helping to make this such a great event for our students. None of you is the reason for any of the aforementioned problems- on the contrary, you helped masking those issues and did your part to allow our students to leave with a big smile on their faces. I said it before, and I will say it again: it couldn't be done without each and every one of you who just stepped up to the table and unconditionally made yourselves available. It is this great group of people that makes things happen. The Chief Instructor and the instructors get the glory, as they work directly with the students, but every single person helping there was just as important. Whether we talk about Jordan, who spent so much invisible time in planning the event, to the often-unsung corner marshals right down to the people picking up donuts & coffee or lunch and the ones who stay behind to clean up the entire GMP when everyone else has long left already. We had a person who dropped every plan he had for the weekend to help out, despite the literal last-minute call. We had gate workers turning into dog sitters so that a spectator could turn into an instructor... The list could be continued with many more examples, but every story has the same core: A bunch of great people working to help this school succeed! And I thank you all for that! What was the result? Eight of the students signed up for the various disciplines of the season opener, while another student had to postpone his first outing. Four of the eight are already looking forward to the next competition weekend, while another three are getting ready for it. Without any doubt, the Race & Licensing School is a steady feeder of new talent into our various disciplines. Every one of you helped to make this happen!
