Here are the planned dates and locations for our 2024 Ice Racing Season:

  • Jan 13th        Winnipeg SkiPond (Lake Shirley)           Practice, Ice Drift & Rookie School
  • Jan 14th        Winnipeg SkiPond (Lake Shirley)           Race Event #1  (canceled due to cold weather)

 

  • Jan 20th      Beausejour Ice Oval (CPTC)                Practice, Ice Drift & Rookie School
  • Jan 21st      Beausejour Ice Oval (CPTC)                 Race Event #2

 

  • Feb 10th       Winnipeg SkiPond (Lake Shirley)           Practice, Ice Drift & Rookie School  (rescheduled due to weather)
  • Feb 11th        Winnipeg SkiPond (Lake Shirley)          Race Event #3 (rescheduled due to weather)

 

  • Feb 17th      Winnipeg Beach Winter Festival          Practice, Ice Drift & Rookie School 
  • Feb 18th      Winnipeg Beach Winter Festival          Race Event #4

 

  • Feb 24th       Winnipeg SkiPond (Lake Shirley)           Practice, Ice Drift & Rookie School (rescheduled, then canceled due to lack of snow)
  • Feb 25th        Winnipeg SkiPond (Lake Shirley)          Race Event #3  (rescheduled, then canceled due to lack of snow)

 

  • Mar 2nd       Gimli Winter Festival                           Race Event #5
  •  Mar 3rd       Gimli Winter Festival                           Race Event #6

 

Please remember that these dates are always contingent on weather. In the event of severe inclement weather and reasons outside of our control, all efforts will be made to reschedule the racing to the following weekend. Please refer to this site as the official bulletin board of current information. Changes and cancellations will also be posted on our social media sites.

Registration will be done exclusively online through MSR (MotorSportReg)

 

Planned Race Weekend Daily Schedules

Except for the final race weekend in Gimli, all other weekends will include a combination of a non-competitive Saturday morning Rookie School followed by practice and Ice drifting all afternoon and on Sunday both Racing and Ice Drifting. Please always refer to the actual event’s post on this forum for last minute confirmation of all details.

  •  Saturday

 9am to 10am – track setup with volunteers and registration of school participants

10am to 12pm – ice school and orientation session with newcomers & instructors

12pm to 4pm – alternating practice track sessions between Street Safe Class, Studded Class and Ice Drifting groups (typically 10min track time per group)

4pm to 4:30pm – free lapping time for volunteers

  • Sunday

8:30 to 9:30am – track setup with volunteers and registration of race entries

9:15am – Volunteer/Worker meeting

9:30am – Drivers meeting (all registered entries must attend)

10am – Studded Class practice (10 min)

10:15 – Ice Drift A Group (10 min)

10:30 – Street Safe Class practice (10 min)

10:45 – Ice Drift B Group (10 min)

11am – 11:50am – Lunch break (lunch provided for volunteers)

12:00 – Racing Starts!

12:00pm – 16:30 Alternating races/track time between the 4 groups - Studded Class, Street Safe Class, Ice Drift A, Ice Drift B
