donrolandofurioso Posted January 19, 2022 Share Posted January 19, 2022 Hello all ! As everybody knows, the HPDE/ Competition Racing School at the beginning of the season is a large event. We try to make this a banner weekend that hopefully sets the tone for the entire year, and that entices more motorsport fans to join our club. And as most of you are also aware, this event requires a lot of helpers ( we call them volunteers, due to the generous pay they receive ). Wayne has just opened up an event on MSReg.com for volunteers to sign up for this first weekend of action at GMP. Please feel free to sign yourself up as volunteer. You will be asked whether you sign up as instructor (proper credentials required), or as worker. What do you get out of working for free? We'll feed and water you, you might get a t-shirt out of it, and you can participate in Friday's Hotlapping for free. But the best thing you get out of it is seeing those glowing smiles and happy faces of the participants, who have a great time getting pushed slowly but steadily towards their personal limits! Do you remember when you came through the licensing school? How happy you were that there were people you could ask questions, who soothed your anxiety and made you feel welcome and included? nopistons Posted January 19, 2022 Share Posted January 19, 2022 Remember, volunteers get Friday lapping on the Friday immediately preceding the school for free! Come out and shake the cobwebs off! If you are interested in instructing, and want to learn more about what that means, please let us know. Requirements to become an instructor are as follows: Current, licensed amateur (or higher) racer, minimum 2 full years or 10 events of documented experience, with recent activity and the completion of the MSF Level 1 online instructor program. Or Current, licensed Time Attack racer, minimum 2 full years or 10 events of documented experience and completion of the MSF Level 1 online instructor program. If you have any questions, please let us know! Notes for existing instructors: Please make the effort to take the MSF Level 1 online program. Let us know if you take it.
