Timing results. 

Error Notes: In the heat of operating the timing system (a stop watch) and entering the numbers in to the Timing Sheets, 3 errors come to mind:

1. In one instance (driver unknown) it was found that a cone had been hit after the timing sheet was saved and closed
2. In another instance (driver unknown) it was found that a cone strike actually didn't happen, a cone strike had been noted but it landed back in it's positioning mark, so should not have been counted.
3. Despite a routine where I would verify which driver was about to start a run, and open the appropriate timing sheet, it appears that a timing run as attributed to the wrong driver (Tim Klassen) has 5 runs, some other people have 3 runs. The goal was to give each person 4 runs. If the drivers could look at the timing slips they got upon completing the runs and compare results with these sheets, we might be able to straighten out this error.

Thank you, David, for sitting there and eating all the dust while doing the timing! Next time we will try to aim a bit less for your VW...

oh...and thank you to everybody else, who also decided to eat dust and help out without getting royally compensated! As always, nothing would happen without you - and we thank you for all the work you put into events!

Hi David,

It looks like the session 3 marked on my timing sheet must be from another driver. I have slips for sessions 1, 2, 4, and 5, but only did 4 runs on Saturday.

Thank you for your help, and thanks to all volunteers for making everything run smoothly while we drivers got to have all the fun!

X2 David...I missed a couple cone calls as well...but everyone had lot's of fun.

 

There are elements of DirtX that combine so many other racing disciplines...but the simplicity of racing on a dirt track also goes back to the real roots of racing. I'm looking forward to working more events next year. Who knows? Maybe I'll even scrounge up the $300 for my own dirt racer lol!
