84TurboSupra
The best thing to do would be to look at the road race regs on wcma.ca. Figure out what type of class you want to race in (IT,ST,GT) and build the car to fit the class. Cage, kill switch etc are mandatory in all classes. Coming out to a race and seeing what cars run in which classes and talking to some drivers will help you figure out what you want to be doing. Worry about what other class to move into later. What's your name?
SVOXR4STi
Build your car to meet WMCA IT class and get some seat time. Worry about what other class to move into later.Totally this ^You have some reading to do' date=' start here...[url']http://www.wcma.ca/2013/2013%20Technical%20Regulations%20-%20Race.pdfhttp://www.wcma.ca/racing_forms.htmhttp://www.wcma.ca/racing_regulations.htmLooks like your car would be in Improved Touring IT2 based on the engine size. Start there, and learn to drive without having the fastest thing out there. As Darin says "seat time" and lots of it.The biggest expense for building your car will be the cage. The rest of the stuff for IT isn't bad.Come on out for Friday lapping days each race weekend. It's a great way to get alot of practice. Work a corner on race weekends, you'll learn lots, get free lap time, and the racers can help you get started.
