Jeff
Not sure if I'll be there this time. I had a lot of fun at the last one, but nearly killed my new race pads in one day.The consensus among S2000 guys is that I'm generating too much heat for Hawk pads, so I either need to back off a bit or buy something more expensive like Carbotechs or Cobalts. :(Is there a safe way to cool brakes quickly between sessions? Bring a fan or something?
Corey
I've taken to doing two cool-down laps after every session. Obviously you have to watch your mirrors like a hawk if doing this so you don't surprise someone else. I don't know what my brake temps were, but my fingers didn't hurt from the radiating heat when checking tire pressures. With only one cool-down lap I feared that my arm hair might light on fire after 1/2 second or so anywhere near the wheel. My oil was also hitting 210F during hot laps and cooling to 205F after 1 easy lap, and 170 to 180F after 2. I will not be there on the 15th due to other priorities. apex
I found out last night that I still have 50% left on my front pads and had just ordered a new set! I'm in for at least one if not both sessions. =)

Jeff
which hawks? HPS ot HP+ or something else?Something else...HT-10 up front, Blue in the rear. They're race compounds, but they're not very popular anymore. They were just cheap and I figured they'd be good enough.

TheC
Hi. Newbie here. I went out twice last year (my first time at the track). I plan to come out this Friday. Do I need to register anywhere? Also, why does the first session start so late? Is something else going on in the morning?
