2021 Ice Racing schedule - CANCELED

With the recent Jan 22 announcement that most provincial health guideline restrictions for outdoor activities will remain in place until Feb 12th we have no choice but to cancel plans for our proposed Feb 13/14 event. 

Here is the new race schedule/plans based on the recent announcement that current health restrictions will remain until at least Feb 12th. All of this will be reconfirmed again come Feb 12th with the hopeful assumption that some restrictions will be lifted and the provincial health guidelines will allow outdoor sporting activities with at least 50+ people.

• Feb 20 & 21 - GMP IceX 2021 - Gimli (rubber tire special event)

• Feb 27 - Winnipeg (WSP) - hotlapping/test & tune
• Feb 28 - Winnipeg (WSP) - IceX and Fire on Ice Race Event

• Mar 6 & 7 - Fire on Ice CPTC - Beausejour (studded tire special event)

• Mar 14 - Winnipeg (WSP) - IceX and Fire on Ice Race Event

Worth noting....

The planned ice race school is canceled for 2021.

The "GMP IceX 2021" event planned for Feb 20/21 is a rubber tire only special event on the Gimli Motorsport frozen roadcourse! Saturday will be hotlapping and practice and on Sunday there will be IceX groups running laps and caged cars racing door to door (on rubber tires).

 

A "Fire on Ice CPTC" event planned for Mar 6/7 is a studded tire only special event at the Beausejour CPTC track. We plan on racing in conjunction with the snowmobiles as part of the Canadian National Snowmobile race weekend and are working out the logistics on sharing the oval track for this special weekend.

 

The season final race event is planned (weather permitting) for Mar 14th at the WSP however if the weather remains cold enough we will continue to organize ice racing events each weekend until they turn into water or mud races.

Here's hoping the pandemic situation improves and the covid numbers support a softening of the current provincial health restrictions. Stay safe and hopefully we will see you all on the ice!
