Jim Eh.
Not too sure what BMW calls this part, I just know what I call it .... broke. Kinda hard to shift this way. It's a shot (looking up) from underneath the shift pivot.
Magner
What a "shifty" day, of all things to let go that's a weird one. Looked good out there otherwise, hope see it out again soon.
Brian_Earl_Spilner
Those are some nice bushings on the guibo.
Jim Eh.
Guibo, VANOS, half a dozen other weird names/parts/systems. This has been an interesting journey.
Brian_Earl_Spilner
What kind of BMW is this, anyway? Just hope you don't need to swap out the Eccentric Shaft Sensor for the Valvetronic system... God what a pain in the ass that was when I did mine.
Jim Eh.
Not that lucky to be sooo advanced. Pretty basic engine.

Saying that kind of thing anywhere but around a BMW will get you some funny looks. I thought Jeremy was joking the first time he said 'guibo'. MRS Joe
It’s a shifter sub assembly. Never seen one break. Ties the shifter arm to the gearbox and keeps it isolated from the body via rubber bushings. https://www.pelicanparts.com/BMW/techarticles/E36-Shift_Bushings/E36-Shift_Bushings.htm good break down of what’s what in the photos. As for guibo’s, bmw, Lexus, and many other brands use them in place of a ujoint. It’s a fancy flex disc. They were used also on the independent drive shafts out of the diff on older euro cars like the lotus Europa and triumphs I believe prior to the cv joint
