I don't normally post something like this but I have to from what I saw during race weekend.

Those of you that had the excitement of running the track this past weekend, did you notice that the grass areas are the best you have ever seen them groomed? Did you notice you can see from corner 3 to corner 5? Did you notice the nicely cut workers flag areas? Did you notice the pits where already trimmed and ready? The grass was even cut where the braking cones are on Corner 3.

I want to give a shout out to Mat Leveile and Interlake Yard Care for taking care of the GMP track areas, camping areas, sweeping the track, sweeping the overrun areas, washing my truck and whatever else he does.

Thank you Mat and IYC. Have you thought of moving closer to Portage and my yard?

There's an endless list of great people who are...and have been making this club possible for 65 years. Many of us don't realize all the people behind the scenes that make our events possible. Seeing the tireless efforts of many other members is what motivates me to do my part in improving the experience at GMP and WSCC. Hats off to everyone who's passion makes our dream possible...yourself included!

Yes Jordan and lets not forget the sweeping of the entire track and related grounds.

Excellent work Mat!

Mat also took on and did a great job of grinding down the bumps at the track. The grinding attachment he had to use is super scary and he had to work around buried conduit that was in ground.

Now, low race cars can exit the track at the end of the main straight and come into the pits from that way as the big bump just before the pits is gone. Race cars can now also pit along the road that leads from the pits past the concession and washroom building towards corner 4 as Mat got rid of that huge bump as well.

Thank you also to Hugh and Ari Hanson who suggested and sponsored the idea. With the bumps gone we will be able to better handle the large runoff and vintage events this summer. Great job everyone!

It's going to take me awhile to get used to being able to come into the pits from all directions. Great job folks!
