Assuming I am sticking with Costco, I need to figure out if I am going to let Costco install my tires or take it somewhere else. I just want to know my new wheels will come back in the exact same condition that they go in.

Costco has top notch machines and the guys are good. I'd trust them as much as any other tire shop.

tim, fountain on pembina gouged one of my rims years ago.  No one is immune.  Costco and any other shop should stand behind it though and fix it if they f it up.  That location of Fountain did not, claiming it was like that prior.

It can happen to anyone anywhere. Some places may not maintain the equipment as good as others tho. If I was walking into any place with new rims mounting difficult to mount tires I would let it be known that everybody is on the same page and know that the rims are expensive (hint, hint). Inspect them prior to mounting so both parties know there was no prior damage. Just use common sense.

Well, Quattro Tires called me and they won't have Bridgestone tires in my size for 8 weeks. Back to square one.

Everybody makes mistakes, it is what they do about them that counts.

The Fountain on Fermor has made mistakes and corrected it each time. They also go the extra mile when I need them to. Their service is top notch. If you have a mechanic you trust, stay with them.

All this talk of waiting for tires has me glad that I have some RE71R's in the basement that are 3 years old and have 108 runs on them. They better be good to the cords. lol

What tread ware rating is allowed this year for street class?

No changes from last year, still 200tw minimum to be considered "Street tires".

Looks like I'll be running some Nitto NT05s this year. My first time using Nittos, so it should be interesting.

I placed my order with quattrotires earlier today. 235/45/17 RE-71R was a bit more than Costco but less than pmctire. I'll share my experience too.

Costco applies the $70 rebate to their sale price.  Quattro Tires has the forms online or you can go to https://www.bridgestonerewards.com/  for the reward.  That will get you a $70 prepaid visa.  With a $70 rebate does the price come in lower or higher than Costco?

My comparison was done using my end cost. From high to low was PMC, Quattro, Costco.

Or Bridgestone can make an error and send you two prepaid visas.... not that it happened or anything....  ;)

Hey guys, its Jeff - Fiat Abarth. Kal tire has a program that will beat competitor prices by 5%. Bring in your costco quote and they'll beat it. Any problems let me know. I'm working at Kal Tire here in Brandon. Hopefully see you guys in May.

Thanks for finding Quattro Evolv! they are another $19 cheaper than pmc for the tires I have decided on (Yokohama Advan Sport V105, similar to a Michelin Super Sport and rated just behind it by tire rack over all and actually beats it and the RE71R in the wet, but costs less than both)

Edit: So I ended up ordering a set of Firestone Firehawk Indy 500s (hundred less per set than the Advans with same dry grip but less wet grip and higher wear rating) from Quattro. They shipped to my house in a week for $5.

Quattro has been good for me.  Ended up buying something else (RX8 for sale) and wasn't going to need the tires.  I contacted Quattro and they took them back - full refund less the price of shipping ($45). which they arranged.  The tires still had the stickers and wrap from Quattro.

I wonder if someone local could have used them... for same price of course.

Super good of them though. Impressive

Picked some wheels and tires this week.. since the RE71 are out of stock gone with the Continental contact DW's. In heavy rain these should be phenomenal and serve as a good street tire and occasional autox use.
