Shawn
My brother and I are going to change out a wheel bearing on his S4 on Saturday and need to find a place that we can stop in and get the hub/wheel bearing pressed apart and the new wheel bearing pressed on. As this is his only vehicle we need to find someone that can do it on Saturday while we wait. Any ideas where we can go?
Brian_Earl_Spilner
Back when I still had my Civic, I did a wheel bearing with the loan-a-tool at Canadian Tire. http://www.canadiantire.ca/en/automotive/loan-a-tool.html I got one of those annoying screw-drive pullers/pressers. Yeah, they're a pain in the ass compared to using a press, but it gets the job done and doesn't cost anything. Just an alternative to think about if you can't find a press for that day. MRS Joe
Any reputable shop should have a press. The question is if they will do it. Partsource has a loan-a-tool kit for pulling it out and back in. Any reputable shop with a press should be able to do it. I have a 10t press but will only be home sat am, and I can't make guarantee I would succeed. It shouldn't be rocket science though. Another other guy to ask would be al Marcoux, unless it's a race weekend.
justkickin
Go to Fountain Tire on Fermor. Call ahead and let Anthony or Merv know you're coming and you are from WSCC.
