  1. The swift is up for sale. Many of you know the car, and many of you were in Gimli yesterday to witness me put a rod through the block - what a way to go! 1991 Suzuki Swift 1.3L DOHC GT Engine - was torn down and rebuilt by Bill Langner a few years ago Bottom end is blown - I threw a rod and theres a hole in the block. Head is still in excellent shape, engine ran very well prior to blowing New spark plugs, new cap/rfotor/plug wires. MAF cleaned, has cone filter adapter, brand new K&N cone filter GT 5-speed tranmission - newly rebuilt by Asperline Transmission (over $750 last fall) - new synchros, gears, etc. Only has 4 race days on it, and is in excellent shape Tons of other new parts: New front CV axles New front and rear brakes (calipers, pads, lines, etc.) New e-brake cables Newer battery New Oxygen Sensor New PCV Valve New HPDE Shifter bushings - nice and tight! Has 5 tractionized winter tires on rims, plus 1 non-tractionized. Front and rear push bars, full lexan windows (windshield is OEM Glass), new blue paint job (has marks from a full season of door to door action). Rear fog light, all lighting, wiper, and fan circuits on individual toggle switches in the cockpit. Car has a good roll cage, built by Bill L. Very light car, and very competitive. Was a previous winner before I bought it just over a year ago, and I had many podium finishes in the car. 1st place finisher with the right driver. Car will need an X-brace fabricated for the front end - common Swift problem. Comes with tons of spare parts - 2 transmissions, axle shafts, newer aluminum radiator. Can include a new Sparco 6-point Harness (2017 dated, FIA, good until 2022) for additional cost. No racing seat included Price: $1500 Contact: Jared Halpin @ (204) 294-0286, or pm here
  2. I was wondering if studded winter tires (ones that are used for the street) are allowed to be used for Ice-x (Saturday lapping).
  3. Official Event Details: What? Icecross style event (driving on a frozen pond, on a track carved out of the snow, in an attempt to get around the course in the quickest times possible) * Please note that this will not be ice-cross in its true sense, as cones may or may not be used, however future events will stick to a regulated set of rules. Why? The purpose of this event is to start establishing a rally community here in Manitoba once again. This event will serve to get drivers out and interested, and is also convenient due to us sharing the track with the ice racers. In addition, the race school is an excellent opportunity for drivers to gain valuable skills from a seasoned expert! When? Saturday, January 21st, 2017 Schedule: 10:45 am - Driver's Meeting --> Location: TBD (We'll just congregate together) 11:00 am - 4:00 pm - Ice-cross Lapping --> Let's rip! We will be doing rotations with the other two groups, so it will run in the following order: 15 min. studded, 15 min. rubber-ice, 15 min. Ice-Cross, repeat Where? Mazenod Pond - Off Dugald road, across from the Tim Hortons --> Google Maps Link: https://goo.gl/maps/rBdiYsSNtv82 How Much? Entry Fee: $60 --> We pay what the ice racers pay, plain and simple What Do I Need? 1. A current SNELL “M” or “SA” helmet - SA is strongly encouraged - SA helmet mandatory for all vehicles with factory or aftermarket installed roll protection 2. WSCC Membership --> See here: http://www.wscc.mb.ca/join/ 3. Winter Tires --> all season tires are not permitted 4. Register for the event on MotorsportReg --> http://www.motorsportreg.com/events/2017-wscc-ice-race-2-mazenod-pond-winnipeg-sports-car-club-768282 5. Bring a bucket to put all your belongings in (Rubbermaid tote, for example), as you will need to remove all loose items from your vehicle before you head out on the track. 6. Vehicle must be dimensionally wider than it is tall (same restriction as Autocross) How Do I Sign Up? Follow the links above, or text/call me at (204) 294-0286 with any questions/concerns. To answer some common questions: 1. No, you do not need any special modifications to your vehicle. You can show up with your daily-driver (Toyota Tercel, or EVO X, doesn't matter), or your full blown race-car. This is about having fun no matter what you're in, and challenging your skills as a driver. The only requirement is that the vehicle be wider than it is tall (identical rules to Autocross) 2. Do I need a WSCC membership? Yes, this is mandatory for insurance purposes 3. Where can I get a helmet? You can either borrow one from a friend (lots of people in the city that do Autocross, or HPDE that have purchased helmets in the past. OR, go to Classic Motorworks or other speed shops in the city and pick one up for yourself 4. Am I going to have fun? Um, heck yes. This event allows you to do everything you already do when we get a snow storm, but without the worry of being charged for it. 5. Will I become Ken Block / Colin McRae once I've completed this event? No... But if you keep getting involved and participating, then you absolutely have a chance! Let's get this community going, and have a blast doing it! We had an awesome time 2 weeks ago with an all-Subaru turnout, and the guys learned a bunch! Hope to see everyone out!

    LF/WTB: Ice Race Tires

I'm looking to buy a set of ice racing tires (studded, 13" or 14"). They do not need to be new, so whatever condition you have is good with me. Set of 4 preferred, more if you have. Contact: Jared @ (204) 294-0286, or pm here.
  5. Official Event Details: What? It's a 2-part event: 1. Race School - Al Marcoux will be leading a racing school, designed to teach drivers the basics of racing, and techniques for getting around an ice track as quickly as possible. These techniques will be very applicable to any type of rally driving you wish to pursue. * The Race School is mandatory if you wish to do hot laps of the ice race track for this event. No race school = no lapping 2. Ice-cross style event (driving on a frozen pond, on a track carved out of the snow, in an attempt to get around the course in the quickest times possible * Please note that this will not be ice-cross in its true sense, as cones may or may not be used, however future events will stick to a regulated set of rules. It will be much easier if you contact me in advance so that I can have a solid list of who is coming. If not, you must make sure that you have the required items to participate, and that you show up for the Racing School / Driver's Meeting @ 10:45am To answer some common questions: 1. No, you do not need any special modifications to your vehicle. You can show up with your daily-driver (Toyota Tercel, or EVO X, doesn't matter), or your full blown race-car. 2 - 1st gen rx7's for sale! 81' & 83'

Hi all, Just wondering if there is any intrest in one or both of my rx7's. Running out of space and time for these projects The 81' has recieved all the rust repair that was needed, brand new front end, LSD, 5 speed. About 150k on the shell itself, blue in color with a fresher 12a swapped in about <1000k ago. Transmission shifts smoothly, redline 75w90 in the diff as well as the tranny. Brand new clutch installed with the motor. WIll currently be taking offers on the car, dont have a hard set number in mind just yet. As for the 83', it needs rust repair, 2 lower ball joints and a DS tie rod end and tires for sure. Was running last fall when it was driven back from gimli and hasnt been touched since. This one has somewhere around 164k, unsure of the condition of the motor. Has an open diff, 5 speed. Clutch and transmission also in good shape. The cars interior is currently stripped in prep for rust repair. Open to offers on this one as well, somewhere in the ballpart of $1200. If anyones interested in trades, offers or a viewing you can call/text me at 204-799-7487, worst I can say is no! I would love to see one of these become an ice racer/ AutoX car. Planning to post up pictures tonight!
