  1. The NASCC will conduct a WCMA Competition Licensing School on May 5 and 6 in 2018, at Castrol Raceway, Leduc, Alberta. Check out our Race school information page, and the link to the NASCC Motorsport Registration page for the event. nascc.ab.ca/racing/ and wcma-ca-competition-licence-school-may-5-6-2018-castrol-raceway-park We regret that our event date is the same as the Winnipeg Sports Car Clubs own WCMA Licencing school, but neither club had choices on these dates. If coming to Alberta is more convenient than attending Gimli then we would be delighted to see you at the Castrol track just outside Edmonton.
  2. Our sanctioning bodies, CACC and WCMA have instituted a $100 tow fund for travel between Mission, Edmonton, and Gimli, for August 29th and 30th in Edmonton, at Castrol Raceway, for September 12th and 13th in Gimli, Manitoba, and October 10th and 11th at Mission. I invite you to attend the August 29, 30 event at Castrol Raceway sponsored by FASTECH Performance Tire, and organized by the Northern Alberta Sports Car Club (NASCC). We know that at least a few of the Open Wheel cars in BC are planning to attend the event, more racers should come out and show us how it is done! You can register on the NASCC Motorsport Reg page, http://nascc.motorsportreg.com/ and you can find more information about the Castrol site, and the race day schedules on our racing page at http://nascc.ab.ca/racing/forms-and-downloads/ Camping overnight at the track in an RV or trailer is available, but not tent camping. There are many hotels nearby, with some listed in a document on the same web page. We use MyLaps transponders, and some are available for rent if you do not have one. Write nascc.events@gmail.com for more information. Jed Harrison President, NASCC
  3. Saturday July 26 sees the inaugural running of the Leduc Alberta 1000 kilometer Road Race, proudly presented by the Leduc Nisku VLT Operators Group, and the Land Automotive Dealers Group. There is $10,000 of prize money in the purse. In the paddock area there will also be motorcycle demonstrations and other activities throughout the day. The race starts at 9 am, and goes 1000 km or 12 hours, whichever comes sooner. On Friday July 25 we will have a race license school, celebrity racing, and a test and tune for LA1K participants. There will be lots of room for spectators, and the two day event has an entry fee of $20. Come out and support the NASCC and racing at Castrol. We still have lots of room for race entries, and some teams are still looking for drivers. Go to http://nascc.motorsportreg.com to sign up a race team, or sign up to take the road race school or the test and tune session if you are a race participant. We are also in need of instructors for the road race school, who must hold a WCMA race license and have taught the school in the past. For Supp Regs, car build, etc for the race check out http://www.nascc.ab.ca website, or directly to http://nascc.ab.ca/racing/forms-and-downloads/ to find the LA1k Supp Regs to download. Or use the NASCC facebook page or the straightpipe forum, to seek additional drivers or find a team to join. http://straightpipe.ca/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=45
