    • Oh yeah! My bad Helix, it was #61 Thanks for catching that
    • Vincent Ho Member# 7670 Please reserve #56  Thank you
    • That's pretty sweet Mark. I plan on building something similar. I just need more space in the basement.. haha.
    • @firelizard #16 isn't available, can you confirm it is #61 that you want carry over from last season?
    • Update: The parts are going to start arriving this week and the crew from Advanced Sim Racing will arrive on the 22nd and by the 26th they should be all up and running HOWEVER the rooms they are going in will not be ready for them until 2nd week of May so we can't start renting them out until the rooms are ready.
    • Selling my excellent/mint condition Zamp full face helmet. Flat black in colour. Only selling as I prefer open face for AutoX. Includes helmet bag .$100.
    • And then there is this from the WCMA Sporting Regulations. It's all about using common sense and being safe.
    • No, there is no rule saying that you can't bring extra fuel to the track. Obviously the fuel needs to be stored in an approved container. Just as a quick reminder to everyone who does so: As the day gets hotter and the sun shines on the jerry cans, they will pressurize dramatically. Please relief that pressure on a regular basis - every race weekend I see plastic containers which have taken on the shape of a soccer ball due to the excessive pressure inside.
    • Working on it as we speak. Still some wrinkles to iron out regarding reserved number being locked in.  As far as the schedule for HPDE/Track Day events, they will coincide with the race weekend dates as shown on our Website Calendar:
    • Any summer tire, Bridgestone re71r, Dunlop starspecs (of any model), RS3/4, falken azenis etc will suffer from extended periods in the cold.  the cracking usually only occurs in severe cold (-10 or colder as I’ve seen) and all summer tires fall off/ lose adhesion and become slower after freezing.    ideally a warm basement or at minimum a insulated structure to store them is required to keep them close to 0 or above.
    • Hey all, Time Attack & AutoCross = no time to ride the trails.  I have this gorgeous Rocky Mountain Fatbike just sitting around and getting lonely.  On the other hand, I'm always looking for ways to improve performance of my car(s), tools, etc.  If you like this bike and have something to trade, in the range of $1,000 value, I'm open to discussing a swap.  Note that the bike is an XL frame and with those huge tires, if you're not 6' or taller, forget it.  It's in mint shape, less than 600km of riding, 2018 model, Rocky Mountain Blizz 20.   Currently retailing at about $1850.
    • Are the car number registration list and future schedules coming soon as well?
    • Is there any rule regarding fuel cans at the track? I've considered bringing a 5 gallon gas canister to the track but I can appreciate there being some concern about dozens of fuel canisters around the track if everyone started doing it.
    • I apologize for being so late with this notice.  The track will be open for late registrations at 10am.  Newcomers will have to get themselves into Al's orientation at 11.  Better get registered before that.  Track goes hot at noon.  We'll have a short lunch break around 3:30 to feed our staff.  There's no food concession at the track but you'll have time to run into Gimli and grab something.  Higher horsepower cars will probably need gas too.
    • Bump! Track season is almost upon us, just needs tires and a driver!

    • Hey all - Not quite a technical question, but it is for the track car... are there any WSCC-affiliated body shops or recommendations these days? I have both MPI-claim, and non-MPI work that I need/want to get done in the next little bit. Thanks
    • I should have clarified that these pictures were taken when the car & tires were brand new back in 2018. Audi Winnipeg left the car parked outside on their lot for too long during a Winnipeg winter.
    • You feel the vibe in the air? The ice around your storage place has been melting? You are itching to get your "good car" on the road again? • I've had 3 sets of Hankook Ventus RS-4 and have always removed them before winter and stored in a heated area. Check out the Hankook Motorsports website:  https://hankookmotorsports.com/ Also, refer to page 5 on the attached Hankook tire guide.  Takes the mystery out of tire track temperatures and storage temperatures. • 2007 Honda Civic Coupe for sale with 175,000km. In the family since 2008, never been modified always adult owned and driven. Oem style stock clutch replaced approximately 8 years ago. No transmission grinds or issues. OEM Honda S2000 oil filter used, synthetic engine and transmission replaced under recommended intervals. Stoptech Sport brake pads and new rotors replaced in 2019 at 160,000km. Car was in an accident and not driven since May 2023, left front corner impact under 30km/h. Car runs and drives, but no test drives due to insured salvage title status. Will need a safety and body integrity inspection prior to being registered again.   Current damage includes: Front Bumper, Right front fender Right front fender liner Right headlight assembly with lower support  brace bracket  (DRL light on dash) Hood damage is only minor cosmetic, can still latch hood. VSA brake module or lines are damaged behind right headlight. (ABS light is on however brakes work, no loss of pressure)   Other issues with the car: Typical black paint issues from Honda in this era, clear coat missing from spots, paint defects. Some rust starting on driver side rear fender.  Rear view mirror not in place, fell out years ago.   Asking $4,000
    • That’s the $64k question. Right now, I’d like to think you’re ok with the RS-4’s (almost guarantee the Firestone’s are ok…Almost). Maybe one or 2 nights at -4 or -3 when it goes up to +10 during the day, ‘should be good’ and it should - as if there was some kind of sliding scale for R-Compound Frost degradation, so a 200TW RS-4 would be ok for -5 over night a couple times, but a Hoosier A7 or Michelin racing slick will lose, say, 10% tread deflection per 5 deg C temp decrease per 12hr cycle, cumulative - or something to that effect. The chemical composition transition is a huge gray area….all they tell us is “don’t freeze”…and it’s a safe bet that racing tires aren’t put through any cold weather testing.  The reality is that I have no idea. Testing this characteristic would fun, but the potential number of beneficiaries of this research doesn’t exactly warrant the expense. However,  as tires are the #1 performance improvement, and one of, if not ‘the’ biggest investment we make in our track day cars; to protect that investment I would play it safe and put the car on jack stands and bring those tires inside while it drops below Zero.
    • Do you think this would apply to Hankook Ventus RS-4's?  Just had them installed on my Solstice and normally I would just keep them on the car in the unheated storage unit for winter. They are not a full track/race tire, so I'm thinking they would have cold weather resistance.  They are UTQG 200 AA-A.  I also stored my Firestone Indy 500's in unheated unit for the winter.  But they are 340 A-A rated and should be no problem.
    • Freezing competition tires ruins them. So what makes a competition tire? I don’t have a definition. The line between Competition Tire and Street tire becomes more blurry as technology progresses, especially with the new 200TW class of tires. In the buyers guide for high performance tires, if you have a “summer only” tire, that might be an indicator to keep it from freezing.   How long/duration frozen, and at what temperature causes this problem? No idea. Will -5C for 1 night wreck them? Still no idea…my experience has been “all winter” and only here in Winnipeg, so when it looks like it’s going to be below Zero, bring them in to heated storage. From my experience, I can tell you that the cracking shown in the pics is a relatively new problem (to me), as cracking doesn’t happen on all comp tires that have been frozen. My first set of hoosiers going back 30 years, were amazing tires, unknowingly, I left them on the car that winter. They were quite different afterwards, traction was terrible. They didn’t squeal anymore, they didn’t leave black rubber marks, they just polished the road and left rubber dust. Fast forward to 4 years ago. My Toyo RR’s also showed no indication they were frozen, (they were near the end of their lifecycle for me) I left them on the car all winter - when warming the car up for a couple laps the following spring, it was clear they were hockey pucks - but no cracking. Hoosier has a freezing warning on their website (attached), they mention cracking.  it would make sense for new car dealerships to understand the risk and maybe some do. I know of a new GT mustang that was at the school a couple years ago - 3 or 400kms, brand new, the tires were cracked.  I don’t order tires until it’s above freezing just to be safe…

    • He did not say they were recent photos…..    The Ford here has or had a Mustang of some sort with Michelin Cup 2r’s on it sitting in the lot when it was -30. I looked at the tires they had all cracked. Thats a costly mistake on a brand new car.
