Thanks, all done. I'll be streaming the Beatles "When I'm Sixty Four" while I tear up the track this summer. In AutoX I will be 5 years younger. -

Yes, there will be Track Days, also named HPDE. They will show up very soon on the calendar - expect them to be on the Friday of every race weekend. We also have started last year to allow a limited number of HPDE drivers on Saturday and Sunday, interlaced between Time Attack and Road Racing. That arrangement was exceptionally well received, and we are planning on doing this again in 2024. We will keep everybody posted! -
Hello, Are Friday track days still a thing prior to Race weekends? If so, is a schedule forthcoming? (if a schedule exists and I have not found it, my apologies) Thanks.

Hi Ron There was a discussion among the various discipline directors, and it was concluded that each discipline should retain their own numbers. Please register your number with WSCC as per Jeremy's description. -
Whoopsie, could always try and bribe the owner. Glad this post reminded me……maybe it was me who got your number

Lol, wouldn't you know it...all of 6 numbers registered and one of them is mine. I guess it will be painters tape for the season. -
I used this last time. https://www.motorsportreg.com/events/wcma-2024-car-classing-number-reservation-licenses-western-canada-462340 I just register my 2024 # on the link provided, just skip all the classing info stuff and on the class drop down select “TimeAttack” and select your number. Took 20seconds.

Hi, I have a newbie question. Does reserving my racing number with AutoCross also mean that number is reserved for Time Attack or is there a seperate process? -
I have a 2004 Triple axle Charmac enclosed race car trailer I’m looking to possible sell or preferably trade for a 20-24ft enclosed. I’m the second owner of the trailer, it’s got propane heater, front cabinets and workshop area. Fully wired for 12v and 120v, and air. Has two deep cycle 6v batteries for power (both need replacing). This trailer is also fully insulated. All 6 tires were new in Spring of 2022 with only 2300kms on them. Axles and brakes all serviced at the same time. Awning was also replaced in spring of 2022 as well as a full roof reseal with new vents. Trailer has D rings and E track for tie down of cars/ATV’s motorcycles and Snowmobiles. Aluminum upper tire rack almost the full length for spares. Side access door to aid in entry exit of car. I'm not really looking to sell it just looking to downsize. My grand plans of traveling to events around the country have gone. If you have a 20-24ft enclosed trailer and are wishing you had just a bit more room send me a PM. Wont let me upload any photos sorry.

Can I suggest that if you're going to re-schedule a meeting after the meeting schedule has been published, that you have a email blast sent out to all members advising them of the change? Most members don't do a search of the forums to check whether regularly scheduled meetings have been changed.

I e-mailed mine yesterday, the issue with downloading the schedule is fixed.

I completed and submitted mine yesterday. I had no issues with the downloading messages but I saw the same thing happen last year and it was fixed soon after it was reported.

I guess burning up the kids inheritance will continue to be the plan! -
I worked fairly hard on this in the winter of 2019 for the 2020 season. I basically write up a proposal that went out to a few companies. I had some talks with them and were finalizing a few right when Covid hit and all communication stopped. The largest hurdle is justifying the ROI to the sponsor, in 2019/2020 it was not going to that big deal as I had 3 events planed in the US with GTA. But for local small or zero exposure events it’s very hard. I have not tried to get anymore since. In this market you’re probably best to focus on small local business. None of the larger companies will see any benefits.

Hi Dave, I will check my records at home tonight to see what those numbers were, but I'm pretty confident that both you and Ali are eligible for free membership renewal this year. It may just be something that has to be set up by the powers that be behind MSR. Dason -

@S1L1K0N Thanks! Calendar is now updated for 2024! You won't find anything on Motorsports Reg until much closer to the event dates. -
Although I never received a reply from OTA, the problem of downloading the PIP schedule appears to be resolved. Like me, you may get a warning that the file is insecure, but if you choose to continue, a PDF version of your schedule will be downloaded. Please submit your PDF schedule to secretary@wscc.mb.ca As Roland mentioned earlier in this post, everyone must submit a new schedule for 2024. Thanks, Brian

You can count on me, as usual. I registered as volunteer for the event on MSR. Only problem I am running into is getting our 2024 WSCC memberships renewed for 2024. -

Nice! Need more part- or full-time staff to be "instructors?" I may not know much about karting and I am past the days - if I ever WAS there - that I could lift and muscle a full-grown kart around ... but in my favor, I do have the WSCC trophy for Track Worker of the Year, and Samuel L. Jackson once called me (affectionately) a "mean mo- fu." How many other people get to say THAT! www.bulletproofset.ca -

For anyone following this topic, I have updated the article in my first post on electric vehicle crashes to add the newest technology. The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) is working to get caught up, and several encapsulator agents for fire extinguishers are showing promise, but the technology to control thermal runaway fires still has a long way to go. There is now an EV Safety Plug on the market for first responders that plugs into a vehicle's charging port and engages the vehicle's shutdown protocols. It generally fools the vehicle into thinking it is hooked up to a charging station. The EV Safety Plug is not cheap; about $1200. If we allow electric vehicles on our track, I am going to suggest we look at buying a safety plug or an Efire-X extinguisher. Plus, if it doesn't include one already, our extraction kit should include a cable cutter tool for cutting battery cables. (And, if you read the article, you will see why I suggest we cut the NEGATIVE cable, and not the positive one in an emergency.) I know WCMA is possibly working on how to allow battery electric vehicles on race tracks in Canada. Our WCMA reps can feel free to share this article with the WCMA. -
Time to sell the 1 bunk Hilton. If you've been to Gimli in the last few years you've seen it. But it needs a new home. Last registered in Manitoba around 2015 or 2016. 360 engine. 727 trans. Running, but does need work to make it a reliable driver. If you know anyone interested, it will go cheap. Like $200 cheap. If not, it gets sent to a wrecker.

This page https://www.wscc.mb.ca/calendar/ doesn't show this year's events; still displaying 2023. Heading to https://www.motorsportreg.com/calendar/?country=CA&radius=60&lat=49.90&lng=-97.14&loc=Winnipeg and I can't seem to find Auto-X here either. https://www.motorsportreg.com/calendar/?country=CA&radius=60&lat=50.63&lng=-96.99&loc=Gimli which is linked from https://www.motorsportreg.com/calendar/?country=CA&radius=60&lat=50.63&lng=-96.99&loc=Gimli doens't show any Auto-X events either. *Edit* Looks like memberships can be renewed at this link http://msreg.com/membership2024

Yes the 224 was a very custom order to provide that 1mm extra clearance with out compromising overall performance. They do need to be mounted on a 7.98 wide rim though. 😉 They are 225/45r17, I will edit the post to prevent any further confusion 😋

I believe all the times Tyler put in this list are competition laps.

Six more weeks before the school starts! If you think that is a long time, please think again.... time flies by quickly! If you are interested in participating in the Race & Licensing School, sign up early! Registration is open 24 hours a day - no need to get it done during business hours! -

The timing sheets do include the practice /warm-up session. However, I personally don't think anything but a competition lap should be listed on there. Personal bests mean nothing if they have not been set in the heat (literally!) of the competition. Pulling up some numbers that were obtained during the best of all conditions maybe gives you a record of what you at one time were able to achieve, but it is not the best race lap. As we say back home: "At home all boys have marbles. Bring them out to play if you really have them!" -

I always wanted to try some 224s; seems to be the perfect compromise between 223s and 225s! 😃 I know, I know, I am talking silly now... Sorry, too narrow for me, but I am sure someone with a Civic will find some use for them!
