View Full Version : Registration
Can everyone stop putting non-trim related info in the trim section of the autox registration form?
This stuff gets automatically improted into the timing software and can make things difficult for T&S.
Also, because of the new privacy laws, we do not display the full last name of participants on the registration, but please, still fill in your full last name!
Thanks,
djw

on the topic of registration, does the $2 non paypal fee still get added to sundays' registration? i remember somebody saying it will be waived.
as well, how much is the full wscc membership and registration for the entire year?

Ditto that ...I want a season pass.
The $2 non-paypal fee does not get waived. This was originally the case because we didn't have PayPal up and running, but we managed to get it working before anyone registered.
If you pay for the entire year on Saturday, then obviously you don't need to register, or pay, for any event. Ergo no late fee. ;D I believe that a season pass is $125 but ask Corey.

Because djw was so darn fast at getting the PayPal system working, we don't need to waive the $2 late-payment fee.
So, pay on the web or pay $2 extra at the event.
The season passes will go on sale at the pre-tech inspection. People that bought last year will have first dibs, the remainder goes to people that show up for tech.
We've got to figure out a better system for giving out these season passes for next year. Otherwise the same 25 people will get all the passes every year.

Listen here, mr. One Star...who do you think you are, trying to dictate club policy? ;D
I'm all for any system that guarantees me a season pass every year. 8)
Why limit it to 25 members? Isn't it better to sell more season passes at a discounted rate than to have a pay-per-event basis where if someone misses an event (which happens a lot, even with the "hard core" group), the club's out $20?

Because we lose money on season passes in most cases. ;) These passes are a benefit we pass on to a few lucky members.
To get back on topic, only put car trim info in the trim field! Or else you won't get a season pass! ;D

A couple of thoughts:
It works the same way for Bomber, Goldeye and Moose season tickets.
Raise the price to closer to break even based on actual participation.
Don't renew season passes for those that repeatedly don't advise non-attendance.

I got my car tech'ed last night, I won't be able to make the saturday tech. I would like a season pass what's my best way to secure one?
thanks
hey Corey, what time you done work today? maybe i can just drop off some money for the pass this afternoon.
Corey: how are you going to give first dibs to people that have bought these in the past?
I think a better thing to do would be to give the season pass holders a week or so to renew, and then open it up to first come first serve after that. Just like season tickets.

I'm going to fill up the available spots from last year. *Anyone after that will go on the waiting list. *If a previous buyer doesn't want to buy again, then the first person on the waiting list gets their spot. *So on and so forth until all 25 are paid for. *
mzf - I'm picking up my Focus from Keystone today. Don't know when exactly. *It can wait until Saturday or even Sunday morning. *

can I get you to buy me one? ;D I'll drop off the cheque.
I think you need to find a better way. perhaps an online 'registration' for season pass. then on sat, if no show, or can't make payment that day it goes to next person on waiting list.
so If I can't find anybody to go (because I have to work) and they sell out, I don't get a season pass ::)
I like the fairness :P

I know it's not perfect. We've got maybe 5 spots available on Sunday, so their's going to be fierce competition for them. If the waiting list gets to be pretty long, I'll look into another (higher) rate for people that don't want the hassle of pre-registering every time.
There will only be 25 at the $125 price though.
I'm open to ideas on how to do this better next year... As per Art's idea, I think the price is going to go up a bit and there will be more available.

So is the tech stuff getting started at 1:00pm on Saturday still? I have to work at 2:00pm so I need to get in and out fast... also, I'm also interested in a season pass, should I be bringing a sleeping bag and sit in the parking lot Friday night? ;)
I'd just hate to show up for 1:00 and see a line up of cars and either have to leave without being teched or be late for work and not get a season pass to boot...
Corey
04-21-2004, 04:07 PM
Neil, you can phone Jeff at the number listed on the registration page to set up another appointment.
There is inevitably some people that show up the morning of the event that still need to be teched, so there are a few spots available on Sunday morning. This is iffy though... Better to call Jeff.

Ok, let me get this staight. Dibs go to last years season pass holders first right? So what happens if they all sell out and next year they get first crack too??
I got my pre-tech done at Jeff's house yesterday because I could not make it saturday. Now if I want any chance of getting a season pass, my only recourse is to show up on Saturday?
Could this be any harder? Help me out here! :(
Corey
04-21-2004, 08:39 PM
You've got it right. Yes, it's not perfect. No, it won't be the same next year. There were 22 sold last year, and some of those people are not buying again this year.
I'm looking into other options if there are a lot of people wanting the passes.

I'm calling in sick just so I can get a pass >:(
I'll be there wanting a pass.
Corey
04-22-2004, 10:17 PM
Dude, don't call in sick!
Here's the deal, it's not 100% official yet as I'm having some bureaucracy issues. But, if my idea is realized, there will be an unlimited number of additional season passes for $180. I'll confirm on Friday.
Go Corey Go!
So will that mean that the $125 options goes away?
Corey
04-23-2004, 08:44 AM
Not for this year. Those 25 lucky people pay $125, the rest pay $180. Unless you get paid in carrots, it's probably not worth calling in sick to save $55.
The demand for season passes has really caught me off-guard this year. I practically had to beg to sell 22 of them last year.
That's cause no one really knew about them last year. This year there's more posers so hence more people buying season passes. lol jk people. Please don't take offense, even if you drive a Civic SiR minivan. :D

I'm definitely detecting a sizable increase in smack talk as we approach the first event. The anticipation and excitement are quite tangible...Sunday can't arrive fast enough!
I've got two shiny new sets of tires in my garage, as of yesterday afternoon. :)
Oh, and to make this post fit the topic: I'm looking forward to buying my season pass on Saturday. ;D

Looks like I won't need one. Looking at the schedule there are only six Sunday events. I promised my wife I'd do only Sunday events. This Sunday is out cause the fabricator still has my rear sway fabbing me up a new one. So I'm swayless. Next Sunday event I'll be in Malaysia, which leaves a wopping 4 events for me this year. :'(
I'll still be out Sunday, to say hi and watch, and I'm sure you'll see me as a spectator at the Tuesday events to, so I'll be around. :)

I'm up for the year registration as well. Can I get my number back? [smiley=21.gif]
hey dave, are you guys gonna automatically have the season pass people registered for each event like last year or do we have to register for each event?
Nope. I just got the list last night and will have the pre-paid members automatically registered after this event.
Tom95SC2
04-27-2004, 01:53 PM
So that means I should register online for this Sunday's event?

I didn't get the list to Dave in time. Sign up for this event, but you'll automatically be in for the next one.

Something to consider...If those of us with season passes still have to register online (without payment) it may reduce the number of season pass holders who don't show up AND don't let the registration people know ahead of time.
good point nick. i don't mind registering for each event. i just wanted to make it known in case some people didn't know they had to. :) that'd suck to not be registered.
Nick: good idea, BUT. How do we then provide assurance to the season pass people that the registration won't be full by the time they register?
Tom95SC2
04-28-2004, 08:56 AM
Exactly. Would it be possible to provide special registration spots for us season folks, which expire a day or two prior to the event, thus freeing up the spots for general reg?
Or is that too complicated/inefficient?
Corey
04-28-2004, 09:09 AM
Too complicated. A number of people signed up for the season pass to avoid the hassle of pre-registration.
Madman djw is putting in a lot of hours to streamline things. Everything will be as it should by the May 23rd event.
Too complicated. *A number of people signed up for the season pass to avoid the hassle of pre-registration.
It wouldn't be too complicated from a development side, but adds to our general administration and fuss at the event. And like Corey said, if you paid for a year, one of the selling points was not having to pre-reg.

Sorry Nick, timeout, go stand in the corner. You think about why you're fussing with a good system, and don't come back until you've accepted carte blanche everything the admin team tells you, has told you, and will tell you.
I do like not having to register. It makes me feel elite, even if my times don't always do the same. :D
